Trial of David Sánchez seen for sentencing in Badajoz

The trial over David Sánchez's hiring at the Diputación de Badajoz concluded on Tuesday after eight sessions. The court declared the case seen for sentencing. The accusations presented emails as key evidence.

The trial took place at the Audiencia Provincial de Badajoz from May 28. On Tuesday at 10:57 a.m. the court president, José Antonio Patrocinio, declared the oral hearing concluded. Emails from David Sánchez to pedrosanchez1212@gmail.com between 2018 and 2019, regarding incompatibilities and contracts, were presented by Iustitia Europa. Defense lawyers Salvador Morillas and Raúl Montaño argued the absence of evidence and described the accusations as a media strategy. The Fiscalía has requested acquittal for all defendants due to lack of proof. Miguel Ángel Gallardo reiterated his innocence and that of the other accused. The popular accusations seek up to six years in prison for David Sánchez for prevarication and influence peddling.
