Tropical Storm Boris is positioned off the coast of Guerrero and brings forecasts of heavy rains for Tuesday, June 9.
According to Servicio Meteorológico Nacional reports, Boris was located 195 kilometers south-southeast of Acapulco at 12:00 hours, with sustained winds of 75 km/h and gusts up to 95 km/h. The system moves east-northeast at 6 km/h. The US National Hurricane Center adjusted the land impact forecast to the early hours of Tuesday, June 9. Torrential rains of 150 to 250 mm are expected in the southeast and coast of Guerrero, as well as western and southern Oaxaca. Authorities maintain a tropical storm watch zone from Lagunas de Chacahua, Oaxaca, to Técpan de Galeana, Guerrero. The SMN warns of possible landslides, rising rivers and flooding in low-lying areas.
