Two injured in Ogun multiple auto crash

Two people sustained injuries in a multiple vehicle collision on the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway when a truck attempted to overtake other vehicles. On November 25, 2025, a multiple auto crash occurred on the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway in Ogun State, Nigeria, resulting in two injuries. The accident happened when an IVECO truck with registration number WDE 483 XB tried to overtake and collided with other vehicles in motion.

The vehicles involved included the IVECO truck, a M.A.N truck registered as T 13532 LA, an OPEL Safari car with number FST 957 JJ, and a MITSUBISHI Space Wagon bearing KJA 933 HR. A total of 17 passengers were affected: 12 male adults and 5 female adults.

Babatunde Akinbiyi, spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the details in a statement to newsmen in Abeokuta on November 26, 2025. He noted that while two persons suffered varying degrees of injuries, no one died in the crash. The injured were promptly taken to a hospital for treatment.

This incident highlights ongoing road safety concerns on major expressways in Ogun State, where speeding and overtaking maneuvers have contributed to similar accidents in the past.
