Sweden can expect variable weekend weather with temperatures reaching up to 25 degrees in places. A rain front will move in and affect several parts of the country during the weekend.
SMHI meteorologist Hilda Westberg describes the weather as varied with both sun and rain in turns. A rain front is already approaching from the southeast and will bring local showers that may include thunder on Friday.
Rain is expected to persist over Svealand and Götaland while Norrland sees changing cloud cover. On Friday a high-pressure ridge moves in from the south and temperatures will climb above 20 degrees across large parts of the country.
Saturday starts sunny in many places with up to 25 degrees along the Småland coast near Kalmar and Oskarshamn. A low-pressure system then passes from the west during the day bringing broad rain that may affect runners in the Göteborgsvarvet event.
Sunday returns to high-pressure weather from the west coast. Early next week a high-pressure area in the south keeps warmth in place while cooler air reaches northern Sweden.
