Unbeaten Filipino boxer Weljon Mindoro will fight Mexican veteran Elias Espadas on June 5 at the University of Texas in Arlington. The middleweight bout serves as the co-main event on a card headlined by a WBC USA super featherweight title fight. Mindoro holds a perfect 16-0 record with all wins by knockout.
Mindoro, based in the United States, is scheduled for his second fight of 2026. He last competed in February, stopping Indonesia’s Wellem Reyk in the second round during an event in Zamboanga City.
The 10-round non-title contest pits Mindoro against Espadas, who enters with a record of 23 wins, 16 by knockout, eight losses and one draw. Espadas has won just one of his last six bouts and lost his previous two fights in the United States.
The main event features Mexico’s Daniel Lugo against American Edward Vasquez for the vacant WBC USA super featherweight championship. Mindoro has secured five consecutive knockout victories while campaigning in the United States over the past two years.
