Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers announced on Wednesday that the upcoming season will mark the end of his 22-year NFL career. The four-time MVP made the declaration during organized team activities, expressing excitement about reuniting with head coach Mike McCarthy.
Speaking to reporters at the team's facility, Rodgers said the decision to return came after conversations with McCarthy and general manager Omar Khan. He noted that hiring McCarthy reopened the possibility of playing another year after initially considering retirement following Mike Tomlin's departure. Rodgers added that he has been in Pittsburgh since early May to prepare for the season.
