The AfD in Saxony-Anhalt presented a 100-day program at its state party congress in Magdeburg in case of an election victory. Lead candidate Ulrich Siegmund spoke of a swift change of course.
At the party congress on July 11, 2026 in Magdeburg, the party put forward ten measures. These include terminating the broadcasting state treaties as the first official act, accelerating deportations and obliging asylum seekers to work.
Ulrich Siegmund, 35 years old, received 99.5 percent of the votes in his election as assessor. He said: "The people want political change. But this election has not yet been won. We should carry this humility within us."
The AfD has been polling above 40 percent and aims for sole government. The state branch is classified by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution as confirmed right-wing extremist. The state election is scheduled for September 6.
