Alex Highsmith names toughest left tackle matchups

Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith listed his most challenging opponents at left tackle during a recent podcast appearance. He highlighted four players who have given him trouble over his career.

Highsmith appeared on the Highway 49 Podcast and named Buffalo Bills tackle Dion Dawkins as one of his toughest matchups. He also cited Denver Broncos tackle Garrett Bolles, Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jordan Mailata, and San Francisco 49ers tackle Trent Williams, whom he faced in the 2023 season opener.

“I’d say probably those few guys right there are probably guys who I’ve gone against that I think are some of the more tougher ones,” Highsmith said. The four players share similar traits, including size, reach, athleticism, and power.

The Steelers are scheduled to face the Eagles in Week 11 and the Broncos in Week 12 of the upcoming season.
