The Pittsburgh Steelers have completed their offseason overhaul of the outside linebacker position with one addition and no subtractions. The group now stands at seven players as training camp nears.
The retained players include T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, Nick Herbig, Jack Sawyer, Julius Welschof and KJ Henry. Herbig signed a four-year, $100 million contract extension during the offseason.
Jamin Davis, a former first-round pick, was added to the roster and is listed at outside linebacker despite previously playing inside. He earned a spot on the 90-man roster as a tryout player.
Coaches will need to manage snaps among the top three players while developing Sawyer further. The team may also use practice squad spots for Welschof, who holds an international exemption, and Davis.
