CBS Sports analyst JP Acosta expressed concerns about the Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver depth chart during a recent podcast appearance.
Acosta appeared on the Pushing The Pile podcast and said the Steelers' pass-catcher group is a little bit weird. He noted that the team has won games when DK Metcalf performs at a high level but has also lost when the receiver fails to show up.
The analyst outlined expected roles for the receivers. Metcalf is projected as the deep threat, Michael Pittman Jr. as the option for short routes and screens favored by quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and rookie Germie Bernard as a versatile player capable of contested catches.
Acosta also raised questions about overall reliability in the receiver room. He praised the tight end group featuring Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth but said he does not see much consistency among the wideouts.
The comments come after the Steelers added Pittman Jr. via trade and selected Bernard in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft while extending Washington.
