Arcanaut Studios has updated its website with profiles of key team members for its upcoming Star Wars game, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic. The creative leads include several veterans from BioWare's era of Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The game is slated for release before 2030.
Casey Hudson, known for directing Mass Effect and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, leads the project as CEO and game director at Arcanaut Studios. The studio announced the initial December reveal of Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, clarifying it is not a direct sequel to BioWare’s Knights of the Old Republic despite the similar name. Arcanaut describes it as a new action RPG set in the Star Wars universe. Recently, the studio updated its website with mini-profiles highlighting the leadership team’s experience from BioWare’s golden era. CTO Ryan Hoyle contributed to Knights of the Old Republic and the original Mass Effect trilogy. Production and performance director Caroline Livingstone worked on Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age at BioWare. Director of external development Melanie Faulknor handled Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age: Inquisition. Senior technical designer Dan Fessenden also helped develop the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Pascal Blanché, the sole non-BioWare veteran listed, previously worked at Ubisoft, Behaviour Interactive, Wizards of the Coast, and Warner Bros. Arcanaut Studios has not disclosed further gameplay details, only confirming a release before 2030, potentially aligning with next-generation platforms like PlayStation 6.
