Fuse Games showcased Star Wars: Galactic Racer during a hands-on session at Summer Game Fest this month. The preview highlighted fast-paced racing combined with story elements in a post-Empire setting.
Players take on the role of Shade, a scoundrel entering the dangerous Galactic League racing scene. The campaign features a roguelike structure with randomized nodes across planets like Jakku and Ando Prime, plus vehicle upgrades and consequences for crashes.
The game offers multiple vehicle types including podracers, along with modes for arcade play, story scenarios, and multiplayer supporting up to 12 racers. Developers Matt Webster and Kieran Crimmins, formerly of Criterion, emphasized adding consequence to gameplay decisions to push the racing genre forward.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is scheduled to launch on October 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC at a price of $60.
