A Bhopal court on Wednesday dismissed the application by Twisha Sharma's family seeking a second postmortem at AIIMS Delhi. The magistrate directed authorities to explore ultra-low temperature preservation facilities across Madhya Pradesh as the body remains at minus 4 degrees Celsius in AIIMS Bhopal and faces decomposition risks.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met the family and assured full assistance. He stated that the government would write to the CBI for an investigation into the case. The family also sought preservation of call records and digital data from 46 mobile numbers linked to the incident.
Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old model and actor, was found dead on May 12 at her marital home in Katara Hills, Bhopal. Her family has alleged dowry-related harassment while police investigations so far point toward suicide. Bhopal Police have raised the reward for absconding husband Samarth Singh to Rs 30,000.
