The Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) released daily maximum temperature data for March 14-15, 2026, placing Jakarta first at 35.6 degrees Celsius at Halim Perdana Kusuma TNI AU in East Jakarta. Ciputat in Banten followed at 35.5 degrees Celsius, and Tangerang in Banten at 35.4 degrees Celsius. The top 20 list included sites in Kalimantan, Papua, and North Sumatra, with other highs at 34.6 degrees Celsius in Boven Digoel, Papua, and Kotawaringin Timur, Central Kalimantan. Fifth place was shared by Palangkaraya and Kapuas Hulu in Kalimantan at 35.2 degrees Celsius. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo, met in Pondok Rangon, Cipayung, East Jakarta on Wednesday, remarked, “Kota boleh panas, tapi hati tetap dingin,” or 'The city can be hot, but hearts stay cool.' He added that the provincial government has no plans for weather modification or artificial rain. “Jakarta masih belum memerlukan dibuat hujan buatan,” he said, meaning 'Jakarta does not yet need artificial rain made.'
