A new edition of the Cadem Plaza Pública poll shows that 85% consider the irregular entry of Haitian children serious and 58% believe it involves child trafficking.
The Cadem poll from the third week of June indicates that 72% of respondents learned that the government instructed the branches of the state to locate the untraceable children. 56% believe the main priority is to find and protect them.
The survey refers to the case made public on Monday when the National Migration Service reported to the Public Ministry the irregular entry of at least 486 Haitian children between May 2024 and September 2025 under the family reunification formula. A Contraloría pre-report identified 12 adults responsible for groups of between 2 and 18 minors.
President José Antonio Kast designated Social Development Minister María Jesús Wulf to coordinate an interministerial group seeking to clarify the whereabouts of the minors. Approval of Kast's management rose four points to 44%.
