Catherine Harding, wife of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho Frello, released an Instagram video providing further details on the viral security incident at a São Paulo hotel involving her daughter Ada Law and staff linked to Chappell Roan. This follows Jorginho's initial account and Roan's denial and apology, as previously reported.
Catherine Harding has shared her detailed perspective on the March 21, 2026, incident at the Palácio Tangará hotel in São Paulo, ahead of Chappell Roan's Lollapalooza Brazil performance.
In a video posted on Sunday, March 22—after her husband Jorginho's social media statement—Harding described how she and 11-year-old stepdaughter Ada Law (daughter of actor Jude Law) spotted a woman resembling Roan in the hotel's garden area during breakfast. Ada, a fan who had made a sign for the concert as a birthday treat, peeked out the open door, smiled, but did not approach or take photos. 'Mum, I don’t know if it’s her... maybe it’s her mum or sister,' Ada said, according to Harding. They returned to their meal.
A large security guard, identified as artist protection rather than hotel staff and seen with Roan, approached aggressively. He accused Ada of being 'badly educated,' 'harassing' Roan, and 'disrespecting privacy,' telling Harding she should 'teach her better' and threatening to complain to management.
Harding responded that it was a public area, they were paying guests, and Ada was simply a child excited about her favorite artist. Noting their experience with fame due to Jorginho's profile, she suggested the guard 'eat in your room if you want zero looks.' Upset, the family skipped Roan's show.
Harding expressed hope that Roan, whom she called 'a very, very talented artist,' did not authorize the guard's actions, questioning, 'Would he do that without her authority?' Roan had already denied witnessing the event or instructing the guard, issuing an apology via Instagram Stories.
The incident has sparked debate on celebrity boundaries and fan interactions, drawing international attention. Separately, Rio de Janeiro's mayor announced a ban on Roan from the Todo Mundo no Rio event amid the controversy.
As covered earlier, Ada later had a positive encounter with singer Lewis Capaldi.
