Compañía Minera del Pacífico announced the appointment of Carlos Espinoza as its new general manager starting August 1. Espinoza arrives from Anglo American, where he led the Los Bronces operation.
The company, a subsidiary of Grupo CAP, reported that Espinoza will replace Francisco Carvajal, who resigned on June 10. Until the new executive arrives, Carlos Sepúlveda serves in the role on an interim basis.
Espinoza is a civil mining engineer from Universidad de Santiago de Chile and holds an MBA from Universidad de Chile. His career includes 14 years at Antofagasta Minerals, plus positions at BHP and Codelco.
The same day, Anglo American appointed Felipe Rau as the new general manager of Los Bronces starting July 15. Leopoldo Garrido will take over El Soldado from September 1.
