Compañía Minera del Pacífico hat die Ernennung von Carlos Espinoza zum neuen Geschäftsführer ab dem 1. August bekannt gegeben. Espinoza kommt von Anglo American, wo er den Betrieb in Los Bronces leitete.

Das Unternehmen, eine Tochtergesellschaft der Grupo CAP, teilte mit, dass Espinoza die Nachfolge von Francisco Carvajal antritt, der am 10. Juni zurückgetreten war. Bis zum Amtsantritt des neuen Geschäftsführers übernimmt Carlos Sepúlveda die Rolle interimistisch.

Espinoza ist Bergbauingenieur der Universidad de Santiago de Chile und besitzt einen MBA der Universidad de Chile. Seine berufliche Laufbahn umfasst 14 Jahre bei Antofagasta Minerals sowie Positionen bei BHP und Codelco.

Am selben Tag ernannte Anglo American Felipe Rau zum neuen Geschäftsführer von Los Bronces mit Wirkung zum 15. Juli. Leopoldo Garrido wird ab dem 1. September die Leitung von El Soldado übernehmen.
