Liliana Aufiero steps down as Lupo CEO after decades

Liliana Aufiero, 81, is leaving the executive presidency of Lupo. Carlos Alberto Mazzeu takes over the role starting June 1.

Liliana Aufiero, granddaughter of the Lupo founder, has held the company presidency since 1993. She now takes a new non-executive role as president of Grupo Lupo, created for her, and remains on the board of directors.

Carlos Alberto Mazzeu, 62, vice president and investor relations director, will be the first non-family CEO in the history of the sock and underwear maker, founded in 1921. The board approved the change on Monday.

Mazzeu said the succession was planned in advance to ensure continuity. Lupo posted revenue of R$ 1.85 billion in 2025 and maintains operations in Brazil and Paraguay.
