Sky Sports commentator David Croft has rejected suggestions that George Russell might leave Mercedes following a challenging Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
Russell faced electrical power issues at the start and later collided with Lewis Hamilton, ending his race early at Spa-Francorchamps. His teammate Kimi Antonelli claimed victory, extending his championship lead to 45 points over Hamilton while Russell sits third, 50 points adrift.
During the Sky Sports F1 Show, Croft addressed questions about Russell's future with the team. He stated that Russell remains committed long-term and has never indicated a desire to depart.
Croft highlighted Russell's talent and pointed to Antonelli's recovery from difficulties the previous year as evidence that such setbacks can be overcome. He expressed confidence that Russell can rebound in upcoming races.
