The Department of Labor and Employment will use its Adjustment Measures Program to help micro, small and medium enterprises affected by the P85 minimum wage increase in Metro Manila.
Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino said the program may provide funding for equipment and other productivity-enhancing measures.
For example, DOLE can fund a restaurant's cash register or POS machine so that extra capital can be used for wage adjustments.
Qualified establishments may also apply for exemption certificates within the 75-day period.
Tolentino noted that Wage Order No. 27 was issued under Republic Act 6727 to balance the needs of the local economy, workers and employers.
