A drone struck the Hong Kong-flagged tanker Bochem Marengo on the night of June 12-13, damaging parts of the vessel but leaving all Indian crew members unharmed.
The attack damaged the vessel’s No. 1 and No. 2 port water ballast tanks as well as the No. 2 port cargo tank. The ship was travelling under the US NCAGS security arrangement.
The tanker later reached Fujairah where inspection and repairs have begun. It was operated by Anglo Eastern Ship Management India Private Limited.
An emergency response team was alerted after the incident and the owners notified naval agencies including UKMTO.
