Egypt has signed a contract for its first nationwide airborne mineral survey in 42 years.
Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, witnessed the signing between the Egyptian Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority and Xcalibur at Marsa Alam Airport.
The survey will cover six key regions including the Eastern and Western Deserts, Sinai, Bahariya Oasis and Abu Tartour.
Badawi said the project will create a modern database that reduces exploration risks and attracts new investments.
Xcalibur brings experience from more than 1,400 similar projects worldwide.
