Emcali and CVC present roadmap for second phase of PTAR Cañaveralejo

Emcali received the studies and detailed engineering designs for the secondary treatment of PTAR Cañaveralejo, a project aimed at reducing pollution in the Cauca River.

Emcali received the documents from CVC on July 16. They establish that the plant would increase organic matter removal from 30 % to 90 %, avoiding the discharge of 25 thousand tons of pollutants per year.

The initiative requires an estimated investment of 1.29 billion pesos and a four-year construction period. Emcali general manager Roger Mina stated that the delivery of the designs leaves the technical base ready to advance the project contracting.

CVC general director Marco Antonio Suárez highlighted that the studies eliminate technical uncertainty and constitute a roadmap for seeking financing. The consultancy was developed over 20 months with an investment exceeding 14 billion pesos.
