Eric Ebron describes complicated relationship with Ben Roethlisberger

Former Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Eric Ebron discussed his relationship with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger during an appearance on Cam Heyward’s podcast.

Ebron joined Heyward on the Not Just Football podcast in an episode that aired on June 23. He described Roethlisberger as a complicated person and recalled efforts to build rapport during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Ebron said he stayed at Roethlisberger’s house and asked questions but noted that the quarterback tested players with difficult throws. He added that making plays helped improve their interactions and led to invitations for off-field talks.

In his first season with the Steelers in 2020, Ebron recorded 56 receptions for 558 yards and five touchdowns. His production declined the following year amid injuries, and he retired in 2024 after an eight-year NFL career.
