Typhoon Francisco was downgraded to a severe tropical storm on Thursday, June 25, while Tropical Storm Higos is set to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
According to PAGASA, the center of Francisco was located 415 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes at 4 am. It has maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and is moving north-northeast at 15 km/h.
"At 2 a.m. today, Typhoon Francisco weakened further and was downgraded to a severe tropical storm," said weather specialist Leanne Loreto.
Francisco is expected to exit the PAR by Thursday afternoon or evening. Meanwhile, Higos located 1,750 km east of Central Luzon is projected to enter the PAR tonight and will be named Gardo. It is not expected to affect the country.
