Colombian President Gustavo Petro recorded 36.5 percent approval in a CB Global Data poll released on July 13, 2026. The survey placed him among the six leaders with the worst image in Latin America.
The ranking was based on surveys conducted from June 2 to 7, 2026, among 40,517 people across 18 countries. Petro recorded a 3.5-point drop compared with the May 2025 measurement.
The Colombian leader finished in 14th place regionally with 61 percent negative image. He was surpassed in disapproval by the presidents of Panama, Guatemala, Venezuela and Peru.
Nayib Bukele of El Salvador topped the list with 69.1 percent approval, followed by Claudia Sheinbaum with 65.5 percent and Laura Fernández of Costa Rica with 56.1 percent.
