A new Datafolha poll released on June 20 shows Lula's government negative rating steady at 38%, with 32% positive and 29% regular.
The survey interviewed 2,004 voters in person on June 17 and 18. The margin of error is two percentage points.
On approval of Lula's work as president, 48% approve and 49% disapprove. The numbers repeat those recorded at the end of May.
In a second-round simulation, Lula scores 47% against 43% for Flávio Bolsonaro. In the first round, the president appears with 41% and the senator with 31%. Flávio's allies assess that the gap is surmountable once the campaign begins.
