Indonesia's Komisi VI DPR praises ANTAM performance, urges stronger gold governance

Leader of Indonesia's Komisi VI DPR, Nurdin Halid, praised PT ANTAM and other state mining firms for positive performance amid 2025 global commodity price pressures. He highlighted mining's strategic role in mineral downstreaming. During a hearing on March 31, 2026, Nurdin urged stronger gold governance via cooperatives.

Jakarta – During a Komisi VI DPR RI hearing on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, Nurdin Halid expressed appreciation for state mining firms including PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM). They maintained positive results despite global commodity price pressures throughout 2025.

Nurdin described mining as the backbone of the industry supply chain from upstream to downstream. "Sektor pertambangan menjadi tulang punggung dalam membangun rantai pasok industri dari hulu hingga hilir," he said. He encouraged ANTAM's involvement in national programs, including cooperatives to address illegal gold mining, similar to PT Timah's approach.

"Dengan skema koperasi, diharapkan para penambang mendapatkan manfaat yang lebih adil sekaligus mengurangi praktik perantara yang merugikan," Nurdin added.

ANTAM President Director Untung Budiarto outlined efforts to bolster gold business governance through transparency and an omnichannel sales strategy for B2B and B2C segments. This covers physical gold, gold services, and digital gold via platforms like Brankas, Butik Emas Logam Mulia (BELM), the official website, Tokopedia, and Shopee.
