Interview with the Vampire renewed for Season 4

AMC has renewed the gothic horror series Interview with the Vampire for a fourth season. The new season will be titled Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned and will focus on the character Akasha.

The cabler announced the renewal on July 24. Season 4 will center on Sheila Atim's Akasha, who debuted in the prior season.

The season will adapt Anne Rice's 1988 novel Queen of the Damned. Hannah Moscovitch will serve as showrunner.

Dan McDermott, AMC Studios president, said the prior season delivered propulsive storytelling. He added that the new season will see characters confront Akasha with the world hanging in the balance.

Season 3, titled The Vampire Lestat, ended on July 19. No premiere date has been set for the new season, though a teaser trailer has been released.
