Disney+ has announced an untitled documentary about Julie Andrews set to premiere globally in 2027. The film will include rare archival footage and new interviews with the star.
Director and producer R.J. Cutler is behind the project, which explores Andrews' life and career. It covers her iconic roles including Mary Poppins, Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music, and Queen Clarisse Renaldi in The Princess Diaries.
Cutler said in a statement that Andrews is a cultural touchstone whose story involves overcoming extraordinary challenges. He described the experience of interviewing her as one he will forever cherish.
The documentary promises to show Andrews reflecting on a life shaped by talent, courage and determination without pretense or armor.
