Kanchi Kamakoti Childs Trust Hospital in Chennai has launched a dedicated cystic fibrosis clinic. The move aims to provide coordinated multidisciplinary care for children with the inherited genetic condition that affects the lungs and digestive system.

According to a press release, the clinic brings together specialists in paediatric pulmonology, gastroenterology, nutrition, physiotherapy and endocrinology along with medical social workers. Regular follow-ups will focus on early detection of lung infections, monitoring of growth and lung health, and use of targeted therapies.

The formal inauguration of the clinic is scheduled alongside a Continuing Medical Education programme on July 19.
