WWE NXT star Kendal Grey has discussed her ongoing challenges with the entertainment aspects of professional wrestling. In a recent interview, she reflected on her background and how the role pushes her beyond her comfort zone. Grey is scheduled to challenge for the NXT Women’s Championship this weekend.
Speaking to TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Grey said she struggled more with the entertainment side than other elements upon joining WWE NXT. She noted her history as a shy child who avoided public speaking and her amateur wrestling background where showing emotion was discouraged.
“I love it though because even though I was never comfortable with that growing up, I love that it’s challenging me and getting me out of my comfort zone,” Grey said.
Bully Ray recently praised Grey on Busted Open Radio, stating that few main roster wrestlers surpass her in-ring skills. He highlighted her transitions and potential, comparing elements of her style to top competitors.
Grey is set to face Lola Vice for the NXT Women’s Championship at the Great American Bash this weekend. She has not yet won a title during her NXT tenure.
