KRA launches six-month tax amnesty programme

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has launched a six-month tax amnesty programme that runs from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

The programme offers a 100 per cent waiver on penalties, interest and fines for taxpayers who clear tax debts accrued up to December 31, 2025. Taxpayers can log into their iTax accounts to monitor their ledgers.

To qualify, taxpayers must pay the full principal tax amount by December 31, 2026. KRA says the waiver will be applied automatically with no separate application needed.

Taxpayers can use the iTax portal to pay or set up instalment plans. Those with only late filing penalties can submit all outstanding returns to receive the waiver.
