The Kenya Revenue Authority has confirmed that the June 30 deadline for filing 2025 income tax returns will not be extended. Taxpayers must submit returns by midnight on Tuesday to comply with the law.
KRA stated that millions of Kenyans have already filed their returns. Those who miss the deadline risk default tax assessments based on estimates by the authority.
The tax body advised using iTax, eCitizen, its WhatsApp platform or the USSD code *222*5# for submissions. Operating hours have been extended at contact centres and Huduma Centres to assist filers.
KRA noted that recent technical issues with the iTax portal have been resolved and systems are now functioning normally.
