The Kenya National Examinations Council has extended the deadline for uploading Grade 4 and 5 School-Based Assessment results to June 15. Schools that fail to comply face a KSh 1,000 penalty per learner. The extension follows reports that several primary schools missed the original May 29 cutoff. KNEC reopened the portal for two weeks after receiving numerous requests, citing technical challenges with the new Competency-Based Assessment system. The council warned that non-compliance after June 15 could trigger audits of school assessment practices. Schools must submit scores for Science and Technology, Agriculture, and Creative Arts and Sports. Educators have noted that the updated platform requires One-Time Password authentication and learner re-registration, adding complexity to the process.
