A murder commission is investigating after a 56-year-old woman was found dead on a street in Brilon in the Sauerland region. She was discovered lifeless early Wednesday morning and did not die in an accident.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed to the German Press Agency that the case involves a homicide. "What we can say with certainty is that the woman became the victim of a homicide," a spokeswoman said.
Further details on possible injuries or whether a person is being sought were not released with reference to the ongoing investigation. The victim was from Brilon.
Police and prosecutors had previously stated that the woman was found lifeless around 4:00 a.m. The investigation continues.
