A woman in her 40s has been detained on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead on a boat outside Askersund.
On Wednesday morning, June 24, two people were reported missing after a boat trip on Lake Vättern. A large search operation followed and the boat was later found with the two individuals on board.
The man was lifeless when the boat was located and his life could not be saved. The circumstances surrounding the death were unclear, leading to a preliminary investigation into murder being opened.
On Friday afternoon the woman was detained on the lower degree of suspicion, reasonably suspected of murder. A new detention hearing is to be held within a week.
"The investigation now continues with, among other things, mapping the involved parties' activities in the time before the crime. Additional interviews will be held and the deceased's body will also be autopsied," says prosecutor Clara Åbyhammar in a press release.
