Mushroom season begins with first chanterelles

The mushroom season is underway in Sweden. The first chanterelles have appeared around midsummer according to experts.

Some people have already found mushrooms in the forests while others are getting ready to search for one of the most popular varieties.

The season offers more than just chanterelles. Michael Krikorev, a mycologist at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, says the first chanterelles usually appear around midsummer every year.

However the quantities are still small and the mushrooms are quite small in size.
