Activision has announced that actor Nicolas Cage will appear as a playable operator in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone. The addition arrives in a mid-season update for Season 4.
The update launches Thursday, 25 June, and is free for all players on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It includes new maps, a new weapon, returning modes and a summer visual overhaul for a battle royale map.
Cage plays himself as the new operator, available only through a premium event pass that also offers a red leather jacket skin. The pass forms part of the Summer of Action campaign.
Activision confirmed that Black Ops 7's Endgame mode stays free until the end of Season 5. A broader free trial of the full game, covering multiplayer and Zombies, begins soon.
This marks Cage's second video game role after Dead by Daylight in 2023. It may also be the last celebrity collaboration in the mainline series. Modern Warfare 4, due 23 October on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2, will exclude such skins to maintain an authentic tone.
