Treyarch has announced that studio head Mark Gordon is retiring after more than two decades with the Call of Duty developer. The move follows his long tenure that included leadership on multiple major titles in the franchise.
The studio shared the news on its official Twitter account on June 15. Gordon, who joined Treyarch in 2005 as chief technology officer, served as studio head since 2016. He began his career in the industry as a programmer.
The official statement highlighted Gordon's contributions across the series. It noted his work on titles including Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, World at War, and the Black Ops games. Gordon led the studio alone after the departures of his co-heads in 2020 and 2021.
Kevin Hendrickson, the current chief operating officer, and director of production Yale Miller will become co-studio heads. Both have extensive experience with the Call of Duty series through Treyarch and Activision.
