A joint team in Majalengka district conducted an operation against illegal cigarettes on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) in two northern sub-districts, seizing about 150,000 sticks or 7,500 packs of various brands from several shops. The raid prevented potential state losses of around Rp111.9 million. Authorities pledge to carry out similar operations periodically.
A joint anti-illegal cigarette team under the Tobacco Excise Revenue Sharing Fund (DBHCHT) of Majalengka Regency held an enforcement operation on April 29, 2026, targeting northern areas of the district.
Kabid Penegakan Perundang-undangan of Satpol PP and Fire Department Majalengka Regency, Yan Indra Sovhia, said the operation secured around 150,000 sticks of illegal cigarettes from various sales points. "In the operation conducted in the northern area, we managed to secure around 150,000 sticks of illegal cigarettes from various sales points. This is proof that illegal cigarette circulation still exists and requires serious handling," Yan Indra stated at the press conference that afternoon.
The press conference was attended by the intelligence section head of Majalengka District Prosecutor's Office, representatives from Cirebon Customs, elements from Kodim 0617 Majalengka, and Subdenpom. The enforcement prevented estimated state losses of Rp111.9 million.
Authorities affirmed they will conduct similar operations periodically involving law enforcement elements, alongside educating the public and businesses not to trade cigarettes without official tax stamps. The Majalengka Regency government urged the public to stay vigilant and report illegal cigarette circulation to support state revenue.
