Ohio woman charged with abuse of a corpse

Michelle Feudi, 55, of Toledo, Ohio, was arrested after authorities say she found her adult son dead and kept his body on the front porch for hours before calling police. She faces one charge and was released pending a court appearance.

Michelle Feudi found her 23-year-old son dead in his bedroom around 2 p.m. on Saturday. She told officers she discovered him cold to the touch with no pulse, and blood came from his mouth when she rolled him over.

Rather than call 911 immediately, Feudi carried the body to the enclosed front porch of their home. She remained with the body there for roughly 15 hours before contacting authorities after 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Police arrived and took her statement. Feudi was booked into the Lucas County Corrections Center on Sunday and charged with abuse of a corpse. She was released on her own recognizance following a Monday court hearing.

Her next appearance is scheduled for July 16 in Toledo Municipal Court. No cause of death has been released.
