São Paulo Civil Police arrested three more people on Saturday suspected of involvement in the death of 21-year-old Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas during a rope jump in Limeira on June 13.
Those detained are a 29-year-old woman located in Rio de Janeiro and two men aged 25 and 27 found in Limeira and Indaiatuba. They formed part of the team responsible for organizing and running the activity.
The temporary arrests, authorized by the 2nd Criminal Court of Limeira, last five days. The court also ordered searches and seizures of cell phones and electronic equipment at the suspects’ addresses.
Delegate Andréa Levy stated there are signs of evidence suppression, including the disappearance of the camera used by the victim and deletion of digital content. The inquiry investigates intentional homicide with eventual dolus and procedural fraud.
Three instructors had already been arrested on the day of the accident at Ponte do Esqueleto, where Maria Eduarda was launched without the safety ropes attached.
