A wild roe deer was rescued from the Fyrisån river in Uppsala on Tuesday evening after entering the water. Surface rescuer Manfred Pettersson and emergency services acted quickly to retrieve the animal.
Emergency services were alerted just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening after multiple calls about the deer stuck in the river.
Manfred Pettersson said the animal swam straight toward the bridge where he stood. "There and then it was just: Should we take it or not?" he said.
About a month earlier a beaver was rescued near the cathedral and released into Fyrisån. This time rescuers helped a deer out of the water instead.
