Agostina Vega, 14, remains missing since Saturday, May 23, in Córdoba. Authorities intensify searches in a vacant lot in Ampliación Ferreyra where the main suspect, Claudio Gabriel Barrelier, was present; he is detained.
Prosecutor Raúl Garzón lifted the secrecy order and confirmed the search for the teenager alive or without life. Experts and 150 officers with dogs and drones examine 200 hectares after placing Barrelier at the site on Monday.
Barrelier testified a second time before Garzón. His lawyer Jorge Sánchez del Bianco said the suspect acknowledged Agostina was at his house and then left in a vehicle. He added that he lied in his first statement out of fear and to protect his daughter.
Agostina's mother, Melisa Heredia, marched in downtown Córdoba and said her daughter is alive. She accused a woman named Soledad, alleged lover of the detainee, of involvement in the case. Security Minister Juan Pablo Quinteros stated the operation will continue all night.
