Two months after the disappearance of engineer Charly Sebastián Ospina Marroquín and lawyer Diógenes Sánchez Preciado, their relatives renewed calls for proof of life.
The missing men reportedly left Neiva on May 11 for Guayabal, where they were allegedly scheduled to meet alias ‘Alexis Perdomo’, leader of the ‘Segunda Marquetalia’ dissident group in Caquetá. Witnesses said the truck was seen being driven by him at midday and the cellphones remained active until 12:35 p.m.
Leidy Fernanda Montes, Ospina’s wife, said: “They are two months of uncertainty, anguish, pain and a void that no family should live”. Lawyer Luis Emiro Sánchez, Diógenes’s brother, likewise requested a sign confirming their whereabouts.
The families noted that ‘Alexis Perdomo’ denies through emissaries that the men arrived at the site. No official responses or proof of survival have been obtained to date.
