Speculation about a Serena Williams comeback has intensified with reports that the 44-year-old is submitting wildcard requests for the grass court season. The former world number one has re-entered the anti-doping testing pool, a step typically taken by active professionals.
Jon Wertheim said on the Served Podcast that multiple wildcard requests have been made for the grass court season. He added that Williams is personally putting in the requests rather than waiting for tournament offers. Wertheim also mentioned the possibility of a doubles appearance at Queen’s Club alongside Victoria Mboko.
