Detectives are reviewing the footage and interviewing involved parties, with the Salt Lake County District Attorney monitoring due to Paul's ongoing probation from a prior assault conviction.
Dakota Mortensen reported a domestic violence incident involving Taylor Frankie Paul to West Jordan police in February 2026. The allegation pertains to an event in early to mid-2024, for which video evidence exists. Detectives have reviewed the footage and are conducting interviews with Paul and Mortensen.
This is the third such claim by Mortensen against Paul. Previously, Paul pleaded guilty in abeyance to aggravated assault following a 2023 altercation involving choking and ripping a necklace. More recently, in late February 2026, sources reported another incident at Mortensen's home where Paul allegedly choked him with a necklace during an argument, with their son Ever present; Mortensen called police but initially downplayed it.
Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill stated: “We are aware of the West Jordan allegations, and since Ms. Paul is on plea in abeyance status, we would always be interested in any subsequent allegations of criminal conduct during her probationary period. If there is conduct out of West Jordan that rises to the level of a violation that would fall within our domain to file charges, then we would screen it when and if it is presented to us.”
This development raises potential probation violation concerns.
