Toesca AGF announced the purchase of an 800-hectare property in Chillán to develop a European hazelnut project as part of its agricultural strategy.
The firm completed the purchase of the Ñuble Alto property in the commune of Chillán, Ñuble Region. It is the third asset in its recent strategy and brings investment commitments to more than US$ 50 million across three regions of the country.
The farm spans 800 hectares and at least 630 are planned for planting. Work will begin in the third quarter of this year and production is estimated from 2030 onward. Toesca’s agricultural portfolio now totals 1,485 hectares in three regions and eight fruit species.
Augusto Rodríguez, partner and head of Farmland at Toesca, said the property offers exceptional conditions due to its location, scale, water availability and agroclimatic features. Matías Guajardo, co-portfolio manager, highlighted experience in Ñuble and the region’s competitive attributes for this species.
